At our purpose-built Newington Active studio, we offer a variety of group exercise classes designed to support recovery, strength, and mobility in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Run by qualified Physiotherapists and Accredited Exercise Physiologist, our programs blend clinical expertise with individualised care to help you meet your health goals.

Clinical Pilates
Personalised programs in a supportive group setting
Clinical Pilates at Newington Physiotherapy is held in our fully equipped clinic at Newington Active and is designed to support your fitness and rehabilitation.
Each participant completes a thorough assessment and receives an individualised program guided by a Physiotherapist or Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Sessions draw on clinical pilates and strength-based training to help improve stability, flexibility, and function.

Health fund claims
When run by a Physiotherapist or Accredited Exercise Physiologist, sessions may be claimable as Group Exercise. Please check with your private health fund for details.

Rehabilitation Gym
Independent use for continued strength and recovery
Our clients can now access our fully equipped rehabilitation gym at Newington Active for independent exercise, injury prevention, or general fitness. To ensure safe and effective use, an initial assessment and orientation with a team member is required before you begin.
How to get started
- Book a one-on-one gym orientation & assessment
- Complete supervised sessions if required
- Access the gym independently during opening hours with a prepaid weekly pass
Health fund claims
Private health rebates may apply to your initial assessment and any supervised sessions. Independent use of the gym is not eligible for claiming.
Bookings:

GLA:D® Program
Support for osteoarthritis through education and exercise
GLA:D® (Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark) is an internationally recognised program designed for people experiencing symptoms of hip or knee osteoarthritis. Delivered by our experienced team at Newington Active, it combines education and targeted exercises to help reduce pain, build strength, and improve joint function.
Australian research shows that participants in the GLA:D® program experience an average 36% reduction in pain, decreased reliance on pain medication, a lower perceived need for surgery, and clinically meaningful improvements in joint confidence.
Program inclusions
- One-on-one initial assessment
- One group education session
- Twelve group exercise sessions (twice weekly for six weeks)
- One-on-one final assessment with future planning

Elsa has over 20 years of physiotherapy experience and a deep passion for performing arts medicine.
With past roles including therapist for Cirque du Soleil, Elsa works with clients who have musician-related injuries and TMJ disorders. She also integrates Pilates and dry needling into her care. Outside work, Elsa enjoys playing the cello and reading.

He offers dry needling, splinting, and exercise-based rehab. A keen traveller and sports lover, Harry’s goal is to keep his patients active and pain-free. Harry is also involved in supporting the next generation of physiotherapists as an educator at Australian Catholic University, Ballarat.

When she is not in the clinic, Taylah enjoys exercising, playing with her doggos and spending time with friends and family.
