Physiotherapy Terms & Conditions

We strongly encourage you to read through our Terms and Conditions in order ensure that you understand them.

a) All advice given will be a result of an expert clinical assessment (objective and subjective) and will be contextualised to the goals determined through the clinical interview. The optimal benefit of our advice and treatment will only be reached through consistent application of our and other external recommendations and strict avoidance of aggravating situations (as determined through the clinical examination unless otherwise advised).

b) We appreciate your understanding of these essential principles which help to ensure the best outcome for you.

c) By attending an appointment at our clinic, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Consent to Treatment

a) You freely and willingly consent to our therapists to performing any and all necessary examinations and treatment procedures in accordance with their professional training, qualifications and understanding of your injury.

b) You have the opportunity to discuss the nature and purpose of your physiotherapy, exercise physiology or remedial massage care, with your therapist, before any treatment is performed, and that you may opt out of treatment at any time.

c) You have the right to choose the therapist that you wish to see, at the time of booking, refuse treatment, or seek a second opinion at any time.

d) There are risks associated with treatment, including stiffness and soreness, soft tissue injury, neurological complications, cerebrovascular injuries, skin irritations, burns and other minor complications. Newington Physiotherapy is committed to reducing the likelihood of these risks wherever possible.

Late Arrivals, Missed Sessions and Cancellations

a) If you arrive late to your session but within your appointment time frame, you may still receive treatment for a reduced time.

b) If you are able to organise a rescheduled appointment within the same business day, no cancellation fee will be charged. This is subject to availability of our therapists.

c) You may cancel or reschedule an appointment so long as you provide us with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice prior to your appointment. A cancellation with any less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee will be set by Newington Physiotherapy and may vary from time to time but will not exceed the cost of your consultation fee.

Payments and Billings

a) Prices for goods and services are set in accordance with Newington Physiotherapy’s price list as amended from time to time.

b) Where there is any change in the costs incurred by you in relation to goods or services, Newington Physiotherapy may vary its price to take account of any such change, by notifying you.

c) You are required to pay for the services provided, and any items provided, on the day of your consultation. Payment can be made over the phone, or at the clinic where you attend your session. Other payments can be discussed with the admin staff, and may be available at the discretion the treating physiotherapist or other appropriate senior staff.

d) We accept cash, EFTPOS, credit cards and offer electronic health rebates (via HICAPS) for your convenience. However, in the event of electronic network failure, full payment is still required on the day of consultation.

e) Our strict billing methods allow us to continue to provide high quality treatment for all of our patients and are in no way designed to exclude or discriminate against any persons or groups of people.
